    Bailey

    Meet Bailey!

I got Bailey on the 16th February 2020. His estimated date of birth (or at least the date I use) is the 16th January 2020.

Bailey was a very timid rat when I first got him. Overtime though, Bailey has become much more outgoing. He loves interacting with people (as long as it’s on his terms).

    He absolutely loves making nests!

    Meet Scout!

I got Scout on the 16th February 2020. His estimated date of birth (or at least the date I use) is the 16th January 2020.

Scout is a really cuddly rat. He enjoys snuggling up with his brothers and with me. When he’s out, you can often find him sitting next to me boggling.

He loves treats and is very motivated to learn new tricks!

    Chinese New Year

Today the boys met an ox to mark the Chinese New Year and the changeover from the year of the Rat to the year of the Ox. This also marks the beginning of their travels to China (before they officially start their astronaut training).

  • Hello!

    Hello!

    Hello everyone!

I thought that since I have a new website now, that it would make sense to introduce myself on here.

My name’s Caitlin Walburn. I’m a Zoology student and I currently have three rats.

Here’s a picture of us all

This is one of my favourite photos – because everyone is looking at the camera! If you own rats, you know that doesn’t happen very often!

I got my first rats when I was thirteen. I started Rattastic Discussions in the final months of 2013, and the magazine in February 2014.

It’s been going ever since. I haven’t always had rats (there’s a three year gap in there) but I’ve loved them since the moment I set eyes on my first two.

I started Rattastic Discussions with the aim of bringing rat lovers together. Today, that is still a major aim of Rattastic Discussions, but now it’s so much more than that.

I have a rat magazine that you can find on the homepage, a blog (which features informational content as well as a craft section), and a YouTube channel. Scout Bailey and Darwin go on adventures. I also have social media pages, including Facebook and Instagram.

If you love rats, please check us out on our social media pages and subscribe to our mailing list.
